Austin gets a spiffy new set of wheels

Michaselanne Kammerer maneuvers her son Austin Zimmerline's wheelchair into a van that was refurbished and donated for use by the 16-year old and his family. The presentation was made Thursday at Louisville (Neb.) High School with Zimmerline's stepdad, Chris Kammerer, and a crowd of supporters from the high school cheering them on.


At the left, Louisville Principal Brett Schwartz and paraprofessional Carrie Powell escort Zimmerline to the presentation. The van was donated by Vetter Health Services to the charity Mobility for Humanity, Zimmerline has cerebellar atrophy and leukodystrophy.
